Ability to recognize/repair and replace worn or broken machine parts.  Ability to replace fork, holders, load arms,  belts and other job specific tooling (I.e., carbide cutting tools)  Ability to use grinding machine to develop tools (filling diamonds, wheels, electros,) Make repairs to build database to be used in predictive preventive maintenance.  Knowledge of the use of continuous motion machinery.  Knowledge of the changes in machine cams.  Ability to follow safety guidelines (lockout/tag out, HAZ-com, machine guards, MSDS, hand tools).  Ability to recognize unsafe and hazardous conditions and seek corrective action.  Basic math skills and use of a calculator.  Ability to understand decimal system and conversion of metric to inches.  Ability to produce accurate and legible reports using basic math for production, maintenance and quality.  Able to make minor changes to the program to make the burs (CNC I and II only).  Advance level changes to the program to make the burs (CNC III only).  Ability to accurately read blue prints.  Understanding quality principles of small parts.  Inspect and adjust machinery to spec according to process and blue prints using gauges, micrometer and job specific measurement devices.  Ability to recognize quality defects produced by machine.  Understand supplier and customer requirements.  Ability to safely handle heavy objects.  Ability to develop in a cross-training environment.  Ability to communicate between the tool room mechanic, operators & manager.  Properly organized area where tools and machine parts are kept in there place and area is kept clean for safe operations of all procedures.  Perform daily clean up at end of shift.

Job Description

Operations Assistant will report directly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

Perform administrative, clerical and customer service duties;

Be the primary point of contact for all carriers at the Holt Terminal and interact with Capespan personnel, terminal personnel, truckers, customers and sales people.

Customer Service;

Performing administrative duties as assigned by the Director of US Operations and the Operations Manager;

Accurate shipping and receiving of produce orders;

Printing bills of lading and work orders;

Assignment and scheduling of carriers for fruit transfers between facilities;

Accurately balance fruit inventories and resolve any discrepancies;

File insurance claims with ocean carriers and vendors as required;

Creating presentations and maintaining documents, files, spreadsheets and databases.

 

Skills/Education Required

Familiarity with Famous software is an asset;

Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products;

Well organized with the ability to multi-task;

Must be professional and a team player;

July 6, 2014 to November 13, 2015 - 9am - 4pm

Creating and preparing lot ("boat") files to include:

-Printing arrival notices

-Printing and matching supplier/exporter manifest against arrival notice

-Labeling lot ("boat") files

-Printing supplier invoices

-Entering invoices into ERP system

-Photocopying and entering invoices into ERP system

-Collating all photocopied invoices by lot ("boat") number id.

-Comparing and verifying all invoices being sent to Head Office are correctly entered into ERP system and that numerical verification has been completed

-Comparing and verifying supplier statements against invoices received and coded in ERP

 

 

Skills/Education Required

Familiarity with Famous Software is a plus

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word Excel) products

Must be well organized with the ability to mult-task

Must be professional and a team player

Must demonstrate enthusiasm
